Reason for introducing CD stud welding machine

Previously, they had been using a stud welding machine from another manufacturer. As the number of jobs requiring stud welding increased, they were worried about not being able to increase their productivity, when their distributor, Meiki Welding Co., Ltd., introduced them to the CD stud welding machine CD-1501 (the predecessor to the CDI-1502), which is sold by our company.
The following three points were emphasized when introducing the first two units.

Is the work efficient?
Is the welding quality consistent?
Is it possible to continue production without any trouble?

After introducing two units on a trial basis, they found that they met the requirements and were able to efficiently carry out not only the welding process but also the setup, which was the deciding factor for them to increase the number of units they installed. Now, 10 years after the first installation, they are using a total of seven units, two CD-1501 and five CDI-1502.

1. Improved work efficiency

The speed of work, including the setup, has changed dramatically. Ichihashi Metal Crafts Co., Ltd. thoroughly tests the welding strength before starting work in order to ship high-quality products. When using a welding machine, it is necessary to set the welding conditions according to the season, temperature, and material. In the past, a flathead screwdriver was used to set the tension of the stud gun's spring to set the welding conditions, so even experienced workers took time to make fine adjustments. However,the CA-08 stud gun used with the CD stud welding machine has a dial-type lift adjustment, so anyone can easily set and fine-tune it,according to the company.

In addition, the welding conditions differ between aluminum and steel. Even if you need to quickly weld a piece of steel while welding aluminum, it doesn't take much time andyou can respond flexibly and smoothly, which is a big difference from the past.

↑When checking the strength, if the bolts are bent and do not come loose, it can be said that the welding was done under appropriate conditions.

2. Reducing the burden on workers

It is no longer necessary to use force when setting a stud bolt in a welding gun. Before the CD stud welding machine was introduced, a lot of force was required when setting a stud bolt in a welding gun. However, now the bolt can be set without using force. Ichihashi Metal Crafts Co., Ltd. welds an enormous number of studs, 2,000 a day and over 100,000 a year. The shorter the time and less the force required for each stud, the less the burden on the workers.

Currently, Ichihashi Metal Crafts Co., Ltd. employs technical intern trainees. By simplifying the welding condition settings before work and maintaining stable welding strength,even inexperienced trainees can now perform more tasks by themselves. As a result, the division of roles has become possible, with workers concentrating on their respective tasks and the supervisor watching over the surroundings, taking command, and managing safety.
