Before the automatic positioning device was introduced, roller stands were installed on the left and right sides of metal saw blade cutting machine (delivered in 2012), and dimensions were measured with measuring tapes attached to the stands. However, cutting process had the following issues:

1. To see the measuring tape attached to the roller stand, you need to stand on a footstool, which creates a risk of falling.
②Dueto the deterioration of the roller stand, it is difficult to determine accurate dimensions.
3) It takes time to adjust the dimensions.

In response to these issues, Kanesou Co., Ltd. placed importance on conducting risk assessments and reflecting the opinions of on-site workers, and based on this intention, we proposed the use of an automatic positioning device.

The deciding factors for the introduction were the elimination of the risk of tipping over (1), the flexible response to residual risks (2), and the ability to achieve high-precision positioning of ±0.1 mm.

Previously, a footstool was required to visually check the measuring tape attached to the roller stand before and after cutting to confirm the dimensions, but now thatdimensions can be set completely on the touch panel, the footstool is no longer necessary, eliminating the risk of tipping over.

In addition, the control panel, which is on the right side of the standard cutting machine, has been custom-made to be installed independently on the left side, improving the worker's workflow. This eliminates unnecessary movement, such as operating the touch panel on the right side of cutting machine body and then moving to the left side to set the material.

Previously, dimensions were checked before and after cutting using a measuring tape attached to the roller stand, but after the introduction of the system, it is now only necessary to check after cutting. Simply input the set value into the touch panel and start, and the fixed size stopper will automatically move, which has improved the work efficiency of cutting process by approximately 50%.

Before the positioning device was introduced, the position had to be determined manually by leaning forward while standing on a footstool and looking at the measuring tape attached to the roller stand.

After the installation, automatic settings became possible using the touch panel as shown in the photo on the right, improving safety and accuracy.
